Celebrating the Year of the Black Water Snake

2013 is the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese lunar calendar. The Black Snake, or Black Water Snake as it’s called during the water cycle, means “fire in the water,” and is said to bring contradictions and extremes. Expect the year to bear lethal poison and unimaginable beauty like the snake itself.

The Black Snake symbolizes heightened anarchy: lack of governance, and freedom of the individual. In the struggle to survive, we’re advised to live and let live – to take only as much as we need, and expect others to do the same.

According to legend, this is the year the ten dragons controlling the flood gates arrive. Water will flow, and with it, money, through the quick change of hands and widespread inflation. It’s a time for thoughtful planning, especially with finances. Don’t take your safety net for granted.

With rapid change in social structure and financial security, there is also opportunity. Great wealth creation is possible. For those who tap into their higher power, who exercise intelligence and self-control, this could be a year of unprecedented success and good fortune.
